Locating the Middle Rack in your oven

Many recipes call for placing the oven rack in the middle position.  If your oven has an uneven number of racks

finding the middle rack is simple.  If your oven has an even number of racks you could place the rack in either

the upper-middle or lower-middle position.  In our experience, we have found that baking using the upper-middle position browns the food a little too much on top, while using the lower-middle position actually puts the

food closer to the exact middle of the oven.
